C&R Project: Central Institute for the Deaf

The Central Institute for the Deaf, affiliated with Washington University, is located in St. Louis, Missouri. This project consisted of the construction of two facilities. The first was a 42,000 SF classroom building that includes a gym, family center, music/art/discovery room and a library/computer lab. The second building encompasses 65,000 SF and serves as a research facility, conference center and central cafeteria.
A heavy emphasis was placed on reduced noise levels and “quiet systems” throughout the design of this project.
