C&R Services:

  • Building Type: Healthcare
  • Project Type: HVAC, Plan & Spec

Phase 1 of the Campus Renewal Project occurred in 2018. St. Louis Children’s Hospital opened a 12-story, 222,000-square-foot, inpatient expansion on the Washington University Medical Campus. The expansion increased the number of private inpatient rooms and opened more private patient rooms including 96 PICU rooms and 130 NICU Rooms. A second rooftop garden on the 7th floor and a second Ronald McDonald Family Room was added.

C&R used modular prefabrication offsite that was modeled and detailed through BIM software. This allowed the installation to be expedited and installed efficiently. The scope of work for this project required C&R to furnish and install HVAC and Medical gas system. This system included (395) variable air volume (VAV) boxes, (4) silencers and air flow stations, (12) fan coil units (FCU), (1280) supply and return grilles, (105) life safety dampers, hot water piping for VAV box reheat coils and supply/return/exhaust ductwork systems. The medical gas system was a completely new installation equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
