For this Biotech Lab project, an emphasis was placed on air delivery and exhaust. To avoid the possibility of contamination, air cannot be reused and 100% outside air is required. For this reason, the air in the laboratory is changed every four minutes. Additionally, negative pressure also has to be maintained in these labs. In addition to accommodating for these special conditions, the comfort of the lab workers had to be taken into account as well.

C&R played a crucial role in the design of this system which consisted of boilers, chillers, emergency exhaust systems, a VAV reheat system and a sophisticated HVAC system for the growth chambers.
